Bankruptcies decreased by 1.4% in May

Overall bankruptcies reached a total  of 706 during the month of May of 2019, 10 or 1.4% less than the 716 reported in May of last year.  This brings the total bankruptcies from January to May 2019 up to 3,160, a total of 34 bankruptcies or 1.09% more than the 3,126 reported in 2018 up until the same date.  

 

 

Out of the total bankruptcies reported this year so far, 59.56% are chapter 13 bankruptcies while 38.92% are chapter 7 bankruptcies, the remaining 1.52% consisted of chapter 11 and chapter 12 bankruptcies.
