Retail sales grow 14.4% in May 2018

According to the Trade Company, retail sales totaled $2.95 billion in May 2018, a 14.4% increase compared to May 2017. After hurricane Maria, retail sales have reported a significant increase in numbers, while inflation has remained on average at 1.6%.

 

 Furniture Stores had the largest increase at 46.9% followed by jewelry stores (27.5%), and department stores with $909.1 million (an increase of 26.6%).
